School Code and Conduct

Conduct

  • HOMEWORK, TASK, ASSIGNMENTS ETC: Parents /Guardians are kindly urged to check whether any tasks/assignments/homework have been assigned to a learner and to ensure that work is done. Please do this daily.

  • CELLPHONES: Learners are prohibited from having cell phones in their possession during the school day. We will therefore confiscate cell phone found on the person of a learner and only return it to its rightful owner at the end of the particular school year.A fine of R250 will be levied before said phone is returned to the parent/guardian. We however have every confidence that the parents/caregivers will give their fullest cooperation in this regard and that we will avoid such drastic measures. Please note that we will not deviate from this decision jointly taken by the SGB and Staff.

  • SCHOOL UNIFORM: All LEARNERS must be clad in the prescribed school uniform. Takkies area NO-NO, uniforms are obtainable from Nurzab Sport. Boys wear a white kufiya and girls a navy scarf. A navy blue jacket or jersey can be worn during winter/cold weather. A navy blue jersey with the school’s emblem is available at Nurzab Sport. beanies are allowed. No male learner must wear jewelry other than a wristwatch. Females are allowed to wear studs or sleeper earrings and a wristwatch. Nose rings etc will not be allowed. No fancy hairstyles will be allowed. Boys’ hair must be cut neatly above the collar.

  • ABSENTEEISM: Learners absent themselves without sound reason regularly. To eliminate the possibility of truancy, we will require a letter from a parent whenever the learner is absent for a single day. We will also want to be presented with a certificate if a learner is absent for 2 days or more. This is the normal practice at other institutions.

  • LATECOMING: This has the potential to impact the discipline, work ethic, and security at the school. The school day commences at 0800 Monday to Friday. It is strongly advised that all learners report at least 10 minutes before starting time.it is also important that parents make a provision that all transport providers adhere to this regulation. If late coming persists, we will be coerced into introducing detention classes for chronic offenders.

  • VANDALISM: Vandalism of school property is a serious transgression and will be dealt with accordingly. Vulgar graffiti on walls, doors, and furniture will also be not tolerated and we will deal harshly with offenders.

  • DANGEROUS WEAPONS: Any dangerous weapons found on a learner is a serious offense and will be dealt with severely. Threatening any educator/staff member/learner will lead to expulsion.
  • OUTSTANDING SCHOOL FEES: The school can regrettably no longer afford to “carry” learners who are errant in their payment of compulsory school fees. To ensure your child or children’s continued attendance /involvement at this institute, we have to insist that all outstanding fees be settled as a matter of urgency. We are confronted with huge financial commitments that we have to meet at the end of each month. Without these contributions, it is virtually impossible to manage our school’s affairs of ourschool in the desired manner. The school reserves the right to refuse admission to any learner who does not adhere to this.

  • Kindly note that all Learners doing Computer Applications Technology as a subject must pay an annual R850 by no later than the end of March of each year. We also urge parents to purchase the required textbooks for the relevant class the learner finds him/herself in. The lack of textbooks makes it extremely difficult for educators to conduct lessons

  • FRATENISIATION between sexes is not tolerated at all, especially during school break time, causing much embarrassment, especially among visitors to the institution.

  • SMOKING/SELLING OF CIGARETTES AND OTHER INTOXICANTS: Any learner found guilty of this offense whilst wearing a school uniform will be summarily suspended and have to appear in front of the disciplinary committee.

  • DROP-OFF POINTS. We insist that all transport providers drop learners at the entrance gate of the school.

  • TEXT BOOKS: Please ensure that all learners own ALL prescribed textbooks. It places an unnecessary burden on educators if learners need textbooks.

  • Learners are not allowed to drive themselves to school and use the parking bays.

  • Untoward behavior in the classroom and outside school premises – whilst the learner is clad in our school uniform can hold serious repercussions for the offender.
